Title: I know what to do I just don’t do it

Key Points:

  • Do you really know what to do or are you
    • Defensive & Deflective
    • Not wanting to be wrong
    • Wanting to be in control
    • Overcomplicating it
    • Following old diet rules
    • Imposing restrictions on foods or entire food groups
  • Quote
    • William Paley’s Evidences of Christianity said “This contempt prior to examination, is an intellectual vice, from which the greatest faculties of mind are not free.”
    • “Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance.” attributed to Albert Einstein
    • Without investigation of what do you really know to do or why you are not doing it is just an intellectual vid as Paley said or the height of ignorance per Einstein.

  • Why don’t we just do the things?
    • We have conflicting ideas
      • Don’t have good information
    • We think it must be hard to work & we make it harder
      • Don’t have a simple plan to follow
    • Think it will take too much time or will cost too much
      • Don’t see how it fits in our current schedule
    • Think we can do it later when it’s a better time or we have more motivation.
      • Putting off failure because we are worried and afraid that is what will happen again
    • Serena Hicks – “It can happen fast. Impatience makes it take longer. It takes as long as it takes.”
    • Keep it Simple
    • Have your weight loss and health support the life you want.
