244. The truth about cravings nobody talks about

Jul 03, 2026

Have you ever finished dinner, felt completely satisfied, and then found yourself reaching for candy, chips, or ice cream anyway?

If so, you're not alone—and it doesn't mean you've failed.

In this episode, I'm sharing a personal realization I recently had about my own cravings. I wasn't hungry. I wasn't even especially emotional. I simply didn't want the enjoyment of the evening to end.

That moment changed the way I think about cravings, and I think it might change the way you think about yours too.

Instead of treating cravings like something to fight or fear, what if we started seeing them as information?

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why cravings don't mean you're doing something wrong.
  • How physical needs like sleep, food, and hydration can make cravings louder.
  • Why emotional eating isn't always about sadness or stress.
  • Why sometimes you simply want the food—and that's okay.
  • How pausing before you decide helps you build trust with yourself around food.

This Week's Challenge

This week, don't try to get rid of your cravings.

Instead, get curious.

The next time a craving shows up, pause and ask yourself:

  • Am I physically hungry?
  • Am I looking for comfort?
  • Do I simply want more enjoyment right now?
  • Or do I just want the food?

There's no wrong answer.

The goal isn't to judge yourself.

The goal is to understand yourself.

Because the more you understand your cravings, the easier it becomes to make intentional choices instead of automatic ones.
