08:52:38 Good morning! Have you ever noticed that every time you try to make a change, whether it's losing weight.
08:52:45 Starting something new, or just saying no for once. You suddenly feel resistance.
08:52:49 That voice that says, this is too hard, or what if I fail? That's not weakness.
08:52:54 That's your brain trying to keep you safe. My coach once told me, change happens at the speed of safety. And I've had that quote.
08:53:02 posted on my computer monitor now, ever since. And it has changed how I approach.
08:53:08 everything. Weight loss, business, relationships, new habits, all of it.
08:53:13 Anytime I catch myself pulling back or overcomplicating things, because I do.
08:53:18 I ask, what would make this feel safer for me right now?
08:53:21 Sometimes that means slowing down. Sometimes it means celebrating what I'm already doing.
08:53:27 Instead of telling myself I'm behind. And sometimes, it's changing my self-talk from, like, I'm doing… I'm not doing enough.
08:53:36 Um, to, I'm… I'm learning, and that's enough for today.
08:53:39 When I look back at my own weight loss journey, I can see that I kept making it unsafe without realizing it.
08:53:46 I tried to follow all the rules. If there weren't enough rules, I made more. I pushed harder, faster, stricter, because deep down, I didn't feel safe to take it slow.
08:53:57 And when I didn't see results fast enough. I made it mean something about me.
08:54:01 I'm not good enough. I'll never figure this out. I'm just not the kind of person who can do this.
08:54:07 And that's just in my weight loss. in relationships, it was so much worse.
08:54:12 So, my brain went looking for comfort. Food. Distraction. Anything.
08:54:18 to feel okay again. anything that made me feel like I was enough.
08:54:23 But here's what I've learned. Change doesn't happen through force.
08:54:27 It happens through safety. When we make it safe to try, to fail, to try again, we stop needing to be perfect.
08:54:37 And when we talk to ourselves with kindness, we build trust.
08:54:40 When we make things simpler instead of harder, we create space for success. That's when consistency.
08:54:47 finally sticks, because our nervous system isn't fighting us every step of the way.
08:54:53 So today, I want you to think about one area you've been trying to change.
08:54:58 your health, your habits, your confidence, weight loss, a relationship, whatever it is.
08:55:03 What would make this feel safer for me? While I'm trying to make change.
08:55:08 That's all you have to ask yourself. What would make this feel safer for me today, right now in this moment, while I'm waiting for change?
08:55:18 Maybe it's slowing down your pace. Maybe it's reminding yourself that progress counts, even if it's small.
08:55:24 Maybe it's catching the harsh self-talk and saying. hey, I'm learning.
